Elements of Islay Sherry Cask (54.5%)

Elements of Islay Sherry Cask is a blended malt Scotch from the core range of Elements of Islay, bottled at 54.5%. It combines whiskies from the north and south coasts of Islay. They were matured in first-fill and refill sherry butts and hogsheads, giving dried fruit, citrus peel and cocoa alongside sweet, spicy smoke. The nose is woody, with cedar and aromatic pipe tobacco leading to smoked spices, waxed lemons and earthy tea. On the palate come chewy dates and raisins, crystallised ginger, dark chocolate almonds, syrupy plums and dried orange. The finish is burnt sugar, earthy oak, peat and tobacco, with pepper at the end.
