A 12 year old Kentucky straight bourbon from Heaven Hill Distillery in Bardstown, bottled at barrel proof, 60.1% ABV (120.2 proof), without chill filtration. This is Batch C921, the third batch of 2021 for Elijah Craig, released in September that year.
The mashbill is 78% corn, 12% malted barley and 10% rye. The brand is named after Reverend Elijah Craig, described as the founder of bourbon.
The nose has baking spices, cinnamon and sweet fruit, with light caramel, honey and oak behind. The palate is creamy, with sweet berry turning to vanilla and oak, and the finish brings oak, cinnamon and a warming heat.
