Evan Williams Bourbon Whiskey (175cl, 43%)

This is Heaven Hill's flagship Kentucky straight bourbon, bottled at 43% ABV (86 proof) in a 75cl bottle. It is made as a sour mash and matured in new charred American oak. It was distilled at Bernheim in Louisville and bottled in Bardstown. The name honours Evan Williams, described as Kentucky's first commercial distiller, who opened his distillery on the banks of the Ohio River in 1783. The tasting notes describe a medium amber colour. The nose shows deep vanilla and mint, and the palate brings oak, brown sugar and caramel. The finish is medium to long.
