Elijah Craig 12 Year Old Barrel Proof is a straight bourbon bottled directly from the cask at its natural strength of 60.1% ABV.
It was matured for 12 years in new, heavily charred oak casks and is not chill filtered. This bottle comes from batch C921 of a series that is released three times a year.
The name recalls Elijah Craig, a figure of 1880s Kentucky who is credited with being the first to age whiskey in charred oak barrels.
