Elijah Craig 20 Year Single Barrel #27 (75cl)

This is a single barrel Kentucky straight bourbon from the Elijah Craig range, distilled at Heaven Hill in Bardstown on 19 March 1991 and aged for 20 years. It is bottled from barrel number 27 in a 75cl-sized 750ml bottle. The mash bill is 75% corn, 13% rye and 12% malted barley, a recipe with a spicy rye character. The notes describe that spice as settled by two decades in oak. The nose is deep caramel, leather, dried fruit and oak. On the palate come caramel, cinnamon, chocolate and deep oak. The finish is long and bold, with dark caramel, leather and dried fruit.
