This is a single barrel Kentucky straight bourbon from Heaven Hill in Bardstown, selected as a private barrel. It is bottled at barrel proof, between 59.5% and 66.5% ABV depending on the barrel, in a 750ml bottle.
The mashbill is 78% corn, 12% malted barley and 10% rye, aged in new American oak with a Level 3 char. It goes from barrel to bottle with no water added and no chill filtration.
The nose is charred oak and deep caramel with baked apple, butterscotch and cinnamon. The palate is bold and viscous, with brown sugar, vanilla, black pepper and stewed dark fruit. The finish is long, with sticky caramel, dark cherry and black pepper fading into toasted oak.
