A single barrel Kentucky straight bourbon from Heaven Hill, bottled at barrel strength of 61.3% ABV without chill filtration. After its first maturation the bourbon moves into a second, custom-toasted new American white oak barrel, developed with Independent Stave Company from oak air-dried for 18 months.
The mashbill is 78% corn, 10% rye and 12% malted barley.
Toasted oak leads the nose, with caramel, baking spice, toasted vanilla and butterscotch. On the palate there is brown sugar, cracked black pepper and milk chocolate with a hint of smoke. The finish is long and warming, with oak tannins, caramel and dark chocolate.
