This is Evan Williams Single Barrel, a Kentucky straight bourbon from cask 782. It was distilled on 28 October 2016 and bottled on 8 November 2024 after eight years, at 43.3% in a 70cl bottle.
The mash bill is corn, rye and malted barley, and the bourbon matured in a new charred American white oak barrel. Heaven Hill bottles the whiskey from this one barrel rather than blending it with others.
The nose offers vanilla, burnt caramel and sweet oak, with fine spices and a hint of dried orange peel. The palate has toffee, cinnamon and baked apple skin, with mild sweetness, oak and a little nutmeg. The finish is medium in length and soft, with vanilla, caramel and slightly dry spice.
