Firkin Islay Caol Ila 2011

Firkin Islay is a single malt Scotch whisky distilled in 2011 at Caol Ila on Islay. It pairs the peat smoke typical of the island with the sweetness of Marsala wine. The whisky is matured in Firkin's own double oak casks, which are first enriched with Marsala before the Caol Ila goes in. The Marsala sweetness softens the peat smoke a little, which gives a malt that is rounder and easier to approach.
