Four Roses – Single Barrel OESQ Bourbon (75cl, 50%)

Four Roses Single Barrel OESQ is a Kentucky straight bourbon made to one of the distillery's ten recipes, combining the lower-rye 'E' mash bill with the 'Q' yeast strain. It is bottled from a single barrel at 100 proof (50% ABV), after between seven and nine years of ageing. The Q yeast is described as contributing delicate grain, ripe berry and fragrant floral character. Because each bottle comes from an individual barrel, there is slight variation from one to the next. Red berries, wildflower honey and creamy caramel mark the nose, with vanilla and light oak. The palate has raspberry, strawberry and honeyed grain with soft caramel, and the finish is soft and lasting, with red fruit, vanilla and oak.
