A red wine made from 100% Nebbiolo, sourced mainly from Castellinaldo and Diano d'Alba depending on the vintage. The vineyards lie on sandy marl, clay and Sant'Agata marls, with south-facing exposure at altitudes between 250 and 350 metres above sea level. Vines are trained in the traditional Guyot system and grapes are harvested by hand in October.
In the cellar, submerged-cap maceration lasts about 12 days in wooden vats, with frequent pump-overs and variable duration depending on the vintage. Malolactic fermentation occurs spontaneously in steel. The wine ages in 25-50 hectolitre Slavonian oak casks, then matures in bottle for about six months. Annual production is around 10,000 bottles.
