Garrison Brothers Balmorhea is a Texas straight bourbon bottled at 57.5% ABV in a 750 ml bottle. It is aged in two successive new American white oak barrels.
Master Distiller Donnis Todd filled 22 new American white oak barrels in 2013 with white dog at 114 proof. After two years in the West Texas heat, the bourbon was moved in 2015 into second barrels from Kelvin Cooperage in Louisville, Kentucky, which had been scorched and toasted differently. The results were assessed in 2017.
The flavours are described as dark chocolate, toasted oak and silky vanilla spice.
