Garrison Brothers – Single Barrel Texas Straight Bourbon (47%)

This is a single barrel Texas straight bourbon from Garrison Brothers in Hye, bottled at 47% ABV. Each bottle comes from an individual, hand-selected barrel, so it reflects the character of that barrel rather than a blend. The grain is locally sourced and the distillery uses Texas Hill Country rainwater. Barrels are chosen for the Single Barrel programme on flavour, with a minimum age of three years, and they mature in the Texas climate. The nose shows caramelised corn, butterscotch, vanilla bean and toasted oak, with baking spice and a hint of menthol. The palate is full-bodied, with lush vanilla, dark fruit, leather and oak char. The finish is long and slightly dry, with dark chocolate and a last wave of spice.
