Giffard Crème de Framboise is a French raspberry liqueur from Giffard & Cie of Angers in the Loire Valley. Willamette raspberries are macerated in a neutral spirit distilled from sugar beets, and the liqueur is bottled at 16% ABV.
It is sweet and jammy, with enough tartness to keep it fresh. It can be sipped neat, mixed into a Kir or French Martini, or used in desserts.
The nose is fresh raspberry and jammy fruit with a faint spicy, herbal note. The palate is raspberry jam and flesh, balanced by tartness, and it finishes with lingering raspberry sweetness and a slight, cleansing acidity.
