A French fruit liqueur from Giffard & Cie in Angers, Loire Valley, made by infusing green and red rhubarb in neutral beet-based alcohol. It is bottled at 20% ABV in a 750 ml bottle and has a slightly opaque brick-red to sunset pink colour.
The nose is intense with fresh rhubarb and slight candy or strawberry undertones. The palate is sweet with stewed rhubarb, pronounced tartness and citric acidity, red berry marmalade character and a balance of sweet and sour, with a tart stewed rhubarb finish and a slight vegetal edge.
