Giffard Vanille de Madagascar is a French vanilla liqueur made by Giffard & Cie in the Angers-Loire Valley. It uses cured Vanilla Planifolia beans from Madagascar and a base of neutral alcohol, often sugar beet neutral spirit, sweetened with cane sugar. It is bottled at 20% ABV.
The liqueur has a golden amber colour with amber and copper highlights. The nose is very pure vanilla bean, with warm, creamy base notes, subtle roasted or milky undertones and spice whispers. The palate is rich and creamy, with vanilla seed flavour, custard or crème pâtissière notes, fudge or caramel sweetness, gentle spice and a smooth mouthfeel. The finish lingers with vanilla warmth, soft caramel or toffee traces and toasted nuts.
