Glen Moray 13 Year Old The Auld Alliance is a Speyside single malt from McCallum, distilled in 2008 and bottled in 2021 at 46.5%, in a 70cl bottle. The name refers to the historic relationship between Scotland and France.
The whisky matured in oak casks and was then finished in Burgundy wine casks from France.
The nose is red berries, vanilla custard and honey, with oak spice and poached pears. The palate is velvety, with red fruit compote, toffee and gentle spices, plus dark cherries and plums. The finish is medium to long, with dried fruits, light wine tannins and warm spices, ending slightly dry.
