GlenAllachie – 21 Year Old (70cl, 53%)

GlenAllachie 21 Year Old is a Speyside single malt Scotch whisky, matured for 21 years in sherry-seasoned casks and bottled at cask strength. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colouring. The distillery uses a four-water mashing cycle and a fermentation of 160 to 164 hours, a long run that builds the fruity foundation for the sherry maturation. The nose offers dark grapes, raisins, dark chocolate orange and roasted coffee, with treacle beneath. On the palate come cocoa truffles, sultanas, dark cherries and espresso, with sweet spice and heather honey. The finish is long and warming, with gingersnap biscuits, dark chocolate and dried fruit.
