A peated Speyside single malt from GlenAllachie, bottled at 50% ABV in a 700ml bottle. Meikle Toir is Scots Gaelic for "Big Beast" and is the distillery's dedicated peated range.
The barley is peated to 35 parts per million with mainland peat from St. Fergus, and fermentation runs for about 160 hours. The spirit matures in first-fill bourbon barrels, American virgin oak casks and rye barrels, and is bottled without chill-filtration or added colouring.
The nose brings baking spices, burnt honey, espresso and roasted hazelnuts. The palate is honeyed peat smoke with dark chocolate, heather honey, cinnamon and ginger. The finish is long, with gingerbread, toasted almonds and green peat.
