GlenAllachie 30 Year Old Cask Strength Batch 2 is a Speyside single malt bottled at 50.8% ABV in a 750ml bottle, limited to 2,000 bottles.
It is drawn from eight casks dating from 1990 and 1991, selected by Billy Walker: six former Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry hogsheads and puncheons, and two American virgin oak barrels. The whisky is non-chill filtered and has no added colour.
The nose brings heather honey, sultanas, mocha and cinnamon, with desiccated coconut and dried fruit. On the palate come dark chocolate, ripe figs, Seville orange zest, coffee and treacle. The finish is long and warming, with nutmeg, fading chocolate and dried orange peel.
