Glendalough – 17 Years Mizunara Cask 4 (70cl, 46%)

This is a 17 year old Irish single malt from Glendalough, a limited edition of 652 bottles at 46% in a 70cl bottle. The whisky spent 15 years maturing in an ex-bourbon cask, followed by a further 2 years in a Japanese Mizunara oak cask. The nose is exotic, with incense, wood, spices and coconut. The palate is creamy, balancing sweet and peppery notes, and soft and complex ones. The finish is long, with accents of esters and vanilla.
