Glendalough Single Cask Calvados XO Finish is an Irish single grain whiskey given a finish in French oak casks that previously held Calvados XO. It is a single cask bottling at 42% in a 70cl bottle.
Ripe apple, caramel, honey and vanilla open the nose. On the palate come mirabelle and apricot with cinnamon and a hint of cocoa, while oak spice gives the fruit a dry structure. The finish is long, with spicy wood and a slight bitterness as the fruit steps back.
