GlenDronach 40 Year Old is a Highland single malt and the first release in the 2025 edition. It is made from casks distilled in 1978, 1983 and 1984.
The whiskies were first aged in PX and Oloroso sherry casks, then vatted and married further in a first-fill PX puncheon and a second-fill Oloroso puncheon before bottling.
The nose offers dark fruits with walnut, leather and treacle. The palate has raisin, date, chocolate and velvety tannins, lifted by warm spice, and the finish is very long, with lingering fruit richness and sherry cask character.
