Glenfiddich 12 Year Old is a single malt Scotch whisky from the Glenfiddich Distillery in Dufftown, Speyside, in a 70cl bottle at 40% ABV. It is matured for at least twelve years in ex-bourbon American oak and Oloroso sherry casks.
The distillery was founded in 1886 by William Grant and began production on Christmas Day 1887. It remains family-owned, and this 12 year old is its flagship release.
The nose is fresh and fruity, with ripe pear, crisp apple, delicate floral notes and a hint of honey. The palate is light, with butterscotch, cream and gentle vanilla. The finish is long, clean and mellow, with sweet malt and soft oak.
