Glenfiddich 14 Year Bourbon Barrel Reserve is a Speyside single malt Scotch whisky, aged 14 years and bottled at 43% in a 750ml bottle.
It matures first in ex-bourbon American oak casks, then spends a final period in new, heavily charred American oak barrels. These come from Kelvin Cooperage in Louisville, which chars with natural wood fire rather than gas.
The nose offers warm butter toffee, vanilla and brown sugar, with baked apple and cinnamon-laced oak. The palate is creamy and soft, with toffee, candied orange peel, woody spice and cocoa nib. The finish is long, with gentle spice, charred oak, vanilla and toffee.
