Glenfiddich 14 Year Old Bourbon Barrel Reserve is a Speyside single malt from the distillery William Grant established in Dufftown in 1887. It spent fourteen years maturing in ex-bourbon American oak casks.
Selected parcels were then moved to charred new American oak barrels for a final finishing period. New wood at this stage is still unusual in Scotch whisky, and it adds toasted oak and spice.
The nose is vanilla with citrus, caramelised brown sugar, cinnamon, baked apple and ripe summer fruits. The palate brings creamy toffee, woody spices, candied orange peel and toasted oak, and the finish is long with lingering sweetness.
