Glenfiddich – 18 Year Old Perpetual Collection VAT 04 (70cl, 40%)

This is an 18 year old Speyside single malt from Glenfiddich, taken from its Perpetual Collection, in which small batches are continually married together. It is bottled at 40% ABV in a 70cl bottle. The whisky was matured in a combination of Oloroso sherry casks and American bourbon barrels. The sherry casks add dried fruit depth, while the bourbon wood brings soft caramel and a creamy balance. On the palate there is baked apple, dried apricot and sultana, with toffee, cinnamon, oak spice and a little vanilla sweetness. The finish is long and warming, with lingering orchard fruit and gentle oak.
