This is a 21 year old Glenfiddich single malt, finished in first-fill bourbon barrels that previously held Caribbean rum. After the long maturation, the Malt Master used the rum cask to add warmth and richness, with spice and a vanilla and toffee sweetness.
The nose is intense and sweet, with floral hints of banana, figs and rich toffee. The palate starts soft, then turns brisk and peppery, with a touch of smoke, vanilla, ginger, lime, spices and new leather. The finish is very long, warming and spicy.
