Glenglassaugh – 50 Year Old Single Malt (40.1%)

This is a 50 year old Glenglassaugh single malt, bottled at 40.1% ABV. The whisky matured for half a century in warehouses by the coast in the Highlands. On the nose there is dried apricot, candied orange peel, honey, dark caramel, toasted almonds and polished oak. The palate is silky, with ripe stone fruit, figs, toffee, vanilla, dark chocolate and warm spices, along with cedar and spiced oak from the long time in cask. The finish is very long, with lasting sweetness and oak.
