Glengoyne – 18 Year Old Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky (70cl, 43%)

This is an 18 year old Highland single malt from Glengoyne, bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. Its character comes from a generous share of first-fill sherry casks: 35% first-fill European oak sherry, 15% first-fill American oak sherry and the remaining 50% hand-selected refill oak. The colour is medium gold. Red apple and ripe melon lead the nose, drifting into hot porridge with brown sugar. The palate is full-bodied and rich, with macerated fruits, marzipan and walnuts, then warm spices, dry cocoa and Seville marmalade. The finish is long, warm and dry.
