Glengoyne 18 Year Old is a Highland single malt matured for 18 years, with a generous proportion of first-fill sherry casks in the mix. It is bottled at 43% ABV in a 70cl bottle and has a medium gold colour. The distillery describes its distillation as the slowest in Scotland.
The nose is full of red apple, ripe melon and fresh banana, drifting into hot porridge with brown sugar. The palate is full bodied, round and rich, opening with macerated fruits, marzipan and walnuts, then warm spices, dry cocoa and lingering Seville marmalade.
