Glenkinchie 12 Year Old Distillers Edition is a single malt Scotch whisky bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. It was distilled in 2009 and bottled in 2021, then given a second maturation in ex-bodega Amontillado sherry casks, which adds a nutty note to its sweet, grassy and malty character.
The golden-brown whisky has a light to medium body and a balance of sweetness and dryness.
The nose is dry, with soft, sparkling grapes, and sweeter nutty notes of malted barley and oak. The palate opens with sponge-cake sweetness before turning dry and malty, with a fine grape fruitiness. The finish is very long and dry, with oak and light pepper.
