Glenkinchie – 1966 Moon Import The Costumes (75cl, 46%)

This is a 1966 vintage Glenkinchie, a Lowland single malt bottled in 1988 by the Italian independent Moon Import for its series The Costumes. It is bottle number 74 from 264 bottles, bottled at 46% in a 75cl bottle. The nose opens on dried herbs and flowers, with potpourri, lime-blossom tea, eucalyptus and a little camphor, then turns leathery with hints of cigar box and apple peelings. The palate is dry and leafy, with strong tea, leather, walnut skin and pepper, and some spicy cake and butterscotch with time. The finish is rather long, with soft spices, dried figs and lemons.
