Glenkinchie – 24 Year Old 1991 Cask Strength Special Release 2016 (70cl, 57.2%)

This is a 24 year old Glenkinchie single malt bottled at cask strength, 57.2% abv, for Diageo's 2016 Special Releases. It is presented in a 70cl bottle, drawn from refill European oak butts, with 5,928 bottles filled. It is the oldest cask strength single malt the distillery has released officially, and the first Glenkinchie matured entirely in European oak. That cask choice gives a richer, more sherry-influenced character than is usual for the distillery, which is known for an elegant style from one of the largest wash stills in Scotland.
