Glenmorangie – 12 Years Old Lasanta (70cl, 43%)

Glenmorangie 12 Years Old Lasanta is a single malt matured for ten years in American white oak ex-bourbon casks, then given two more years in Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks from Jerez in Spain. It is bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. Lasanta is Gaelic for warmth and passion, a nod to the Spanish origin of the sherry butts and to the soft texture and sweet aroma of this expression. The nose has warm spices, chocolate-covered raisins, honeycomb and caramel toffee. On the palate come sherried sultanas, orange segments, walnuts and butterscotch. The finish is long, with spiced orange and chocolate-covered hazelnuts.
