Glenmorangie – A Tale of the Forest (70cl, 46%)

Glenmorangie A Tale of the Forest is a limited edition single malt, described as the first Glenmorangie made from malt dried over botanicals. Dr Bill Lumsden, the distillery's Director of Whisky Creation, drew on his walks through Scottish woodland. The barley malt was dried over pine needles, juniper and wood smoke. Illustrator Pomme Chan created the forest artwork on the label. It matured in ex-bourbon casks, many of them refill, and is bottled at 46% ABV, in a 70cl bottle. The nose is sweet malt and biscuit with floral juniper or coriander, and with water pine needles, damp woodland and mint. The palate is peppery, with peppermint, eucalyptus, pine resin, bitter orange and wood smoke. The finish is long, with orange, lemon and oak.
