Glenmorangie – A Tale of the Forest (70cl, 46%)

Glenmorangie A Tale of the Forest is a Highland single malt, bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. It is the distillery's first whisky made from barley kilned with woodland botanicals: juniper berries, birch bark and heather flowers. Dr Bill Lumsden, Director of Whisky Creation, revived the old method of kilning barley with botanicals, inspired by walks in the forest near his home. Illustrator Pomme Chan created the artwork on the pack. The nose combines pine, juniper and coriander with roasted chestnut and a whisper of smoke. Peppermint, eucalyptus and bitter orange meet vanilla and black liquorice on the palate. The finish is slow, with lemon, orange and a soft hint of oak.
