Glenmorangie – Finealta Private Edition 2011

Finealta is the second release in Glenmorangie's Private Edition range, a series of limited edition whiskies chosen by Dr Bill Lumsden, head of the Whisky Creation Team. This is the 2011 release, and it is non-chill-filtered. It recreates a recipe dating back to 1903, when distillery archives show Glenmorangie was being served at The Savoy in London. The whisky was matured in a combination of American white oak casks and Spanish Oloroso sherry casks. Its light touch of peat is unusual for the distillery, and recalls the time when Glenmorangie dried its barley in a peat-fired kiln.
