Gold Bar Original is a blended American whiskey made from base whiskies sourced from distilleries across the United States, distilled from a mash bill of 88% corn, 9% rye and 3% barley. It is bottled at 40% ABV. The whiskies are brought together at the brand's own facility in San Francisco, California, where they are finished in previously used French oak Napa Valley wine barrels. The wine wood is chosen to add fruit character to the whiskey's underlying sweetness. The brand's tasting notes describe burnt sugars and honeyed grains opening to orchard fruits and red berries, with soft sweetness, a creamy mouthfeel and gentle wood smoke.
