Gun Fighter is an American rye whiskey from Golden Moon Distillery in Colorado, bottled at 50% in a 750ml bottle. This bottling has a double cask port finish.
The rye is matured first in new American oak barrels and then finished in port wine casks, which add wine-influenced notes to the spicy character of the rye. It is distilled in copper pot stills.
The nose is peppery spice, dried fruit, vanilla and caramel, with port and dark berries. The palate is full-bodied and spicy, balanced by sweet berries, toasted oak, dark chocolate, cinnamon and nutmeg. The finish is long and warming, with spice, dried fruit and a port influence.
