Gordon & MacPhail Discovery Bunnahabhain 11 Year Old Sherry Cask (70cl, 43%)

This is an 11 year old Islay single malt from Bunnahabhain, bottled by Gordon & MacPhail in its Discovery Series at 43% in a 70cl bottle. Bunnahabhain is largely unpeated, and here the character comes from sherry maturation, without added colour. It spent eleven years in sherry casks of European and American oak, selected from the bodegas of Jerez. The nose brings ripe forest berries, orange and fruit cake with vanilla and caramel. On the palate come stewed plums, orange marmalade, cinnamon and mocha. The finish is creamy milk chocolate, nuts and sherry sweetness.
