Gouden Carolus – Blaasveld Broek (70cl, 46%)

Blaasveld Broek is a Belgian single malt from Gouden Carolus, distilled, aged and bottled in Belgium. It is bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. It is the first peated whisky from Gouden Carolus, made with peated malted barley. It matured in first fill bourbon casks and Anker casks. The nose is typically described as fresh and fruity, with the smoke of an open fire. The palate is less sweet than the regular Gouden Carolus single malt, with vanilla, oak, malt and apple alongside soft peat and smoke. The finish is gentle, with a smoky aftertaste.
