Green Code is a Kentucky straight bourbon bottled at 48% ABV by World Whiskey Society, using bourbon from an undisclosed Kentucky distillery or distilleries. It has been aged for a minimum of four years.
The 750ml bottle is made of cardboard with an interior plastic liner, and the two can be separated for recycling. It is described as carrying an 84% lower carbon footprint than glass and weighing five times less.
The nose brings butterscotch, honey, toasted oak and a little cereal grain. On the palate come honey, vanilla, brown sugar, candied apple, grilled peach and molasses, with green peppercorn spice. The finish is dry and chewy, with molasses, charred oak and leather.
