Green Spot (70cl, 40%)

Green Spot is a single pot still Irish whiskey made at the Midleton distillery for Mitchell & Son of Dublin. It is triple distilled, bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle, and combines whiskeys of different ages matured in bourbon and sherry casks. The name comes from the coloured marks Mitchell & Son once used to show how long casks should mature, green standing for ten years. The same green spot appears on the bottle and its tube. The nose has fresh aromatic oils, spice, orchard fruit and barley, with toasted wood in the background. The palate is full and spicy, with a touch of clove, the sweetness of green apples and toasted oak. The finish carries spice and barley for a long time.
