Gun Fighter (Golden Moon) American Rye Double Cask Rum Finish (70cl, 50%)

Gun Fighter is an American rye whiskey from Golden Moon Distillery in Colorado, bottled at 50% in a 70cl bottle. The distillery was founded in 2008 and distils on its own antique pot stills from the early to mid-20th century. The rye matured for a minimum of six months in new, charred American oak barrels, then was finished in American oak barrels that previously held rum. The nose is typically described as rye spice with vanilla, caramel and sweet tropical notes. On the palate come pepper and herbs over molasses, dark sugar and exotic fruit, and the finish is long and warming, with peppery rye and a subtly sweet close from the rum casks.
