Hakushu – 12 Year Old 100th Anniversary Limited Edition (70cl)

A 12 year old single malt from the Hakushu distillery, in a 70cl bottle. This edition carries a 100th Anniversary design, created for Suntory Whisky's centenary. The illustration shows the distillery in soft greens that stand for the forest around it. The whisky is a vatting of selected malts, each aged for at least 12 years in various casks. The distillery sits on Mt. Kaikomagatake, and the blenders work with peat and soften the palate with mountain water filtered through granite, giving a fresh, gently smoky malt. The nose offers basil, pine needle and green apple. The palate is sweet pear, mint and kiwi, and the finish brings green tea and subtle smoke.
