Hakushu 18 Year 2024 Edition is a peated Japanese single malt whisky from Suntory, bottled at 48% in a 750ml bottle. It was distilled in copper pot stills at Hakushu Distillery, in the Japanese Southern Alps, and matured for a minimum of eighteen years in a mix of cask types. It is part of Suntory's Tsukuriwake Cask Collection, released in the year marking a century of Suntory whisky-making, which began in 1923. The nose is sage, green apple and pineapple with a light veil of peat smoke. The palate pairs herbal citrus with smoke, grapefruit pith and acacia honey, and the finish is long and clean, with campfire smoke fading into green citrus.
