Hakushu – 12 Year Old Single Malt Whisky (70cl, 43%)

Hakushu 12 Year Old is a lightly peated Japanese single malt from Yamanashi, in a 70cl bottle at 43% ABV. Twelve years of maturation shape its character of green fruit, herbs and gentle peat, which the distillery is known for as its forest style. Smoke runs through the whisky but stays finely drawn, leaving room for the fruit and herbs. The nose is green and aromatic, with basil, pine needle and crisp green apple. Sweet pear and kiwi with cooling mint, herbs and restrained smoke follow on the palate. The finish is clean and quietly smoky, with green tea, herbs and delicate peat.
