Hakushu – 12 Years Single Malt Japanese Whisky (Old Packaging) (70cl, 43%)

A 12 year old single malt from the Hakushu distillery, part of the Suntory stable, in a 70cl bottle at 43% ABV. It is a lightly peated expression in the older packaging, from a release of around 2014 to 2015. The 12 year old was discontinued in 2018, and later announcements suggested it would return in 2021. The nose is bright and refreshing, with green apple, mint and a touch of smoke. On the palate, floral notes and honey sweetness sit alongside subtle peat. The finish is smooth and clean, with a refreshing herbal aftertaste.
