Hakushu Distiller's Reserve is a Japanese whisky from Suntory's Hakushu distillery, which sits in the middle of a forest at the foot of Mount Kaikoma. It is a vatting of lightly peated malts, bottled at 43% ABV in a 70cl bottle.
The nose is fresh grass, yuzu, mint, cucumber and light smoke. The palate is lively, with lemon, green pear, smoked tea and pepper. The finish is fresh, with mint, wood and a touch of smoke.
